Pat McDougall's race win thwarted by pace car at Oulton Park

Pat and Beowulf Racing finished their season in the British Superstock 600 Championship in style. Having qualified 5th on the grid Pat made a strong start in the difficult wet conditions, taking the lead during the first lap. From here Pat started to create a gap to 2nd place of 4 seconds before a pace car came out mid race closing the pack back together. Pat controlled the pack well when the pace car went in but it was not possible to regain the gap and Pat became embroiled in a battle for the lead with 4 other riders eventually finishing 4th.
Not the outcome that Pat wanted but it was a strong race in a season with many highs including the win a Brands Hatch, several front row starts and also several times when Pat led races.
From here Pat is looking to the 2010 BSB season and ideally a ride in the British Superstock 1000 Championship or the new BSB Evo class.
