Pat McDougall stays top of the British Superstock 600 Championship after a fighting 4th place finish in today's race
04-05-2009
Pat and Beowulf Racing started today's British Superstock 600 Championship race in 6th place on the grid and made a good start retaining his position into the first corner. From here Pat passed riders over the first two laps to achieve 3rd position and started the job of closing down the 2nd place Luke Stapleford. At mid race distance Pat was closing on 2nd place but started to suffer from "arm pump" (a form of muscle cramp in the forearm) and was not able to maintain the pace. Pat held onto 3rd until late in the race but ultimately was not able to hold back Nick Clark who finished 3rd with Pat 4th.
Although disappointed not to finish on the podium Pat and Beowulf Racing were pleased to achieve a good points finish that sees Pat continue to lead the Championship going into the Donington Park round in three weeks.
