Gino Rea finishes 3rd and 4th in Dutch Superbike races at Hengelo street circuit today
24-05-2009
Gino raced today in the next round of the Dutch Superbike Championship at the Hengelo street circuit in eastern Netherlands. Gino had good results finishing 3rd and 4th in two slightly frustrating races. in Gino's words:
"The two races were a bit frustrating. In the first I was in 3rd but it got red flagged after 8 laps. The race was restarted as a 5 lap race. On the restart I got into 3rd again. I set the fastest lap of the second race and was looking to pass Shouten for 2nd. Unfortunately I was having problems in both races with the gearbox, into first gear it would crunch and not go in properly. This made me run on at the chicane and I rejoined in 5th. I managed to push and got back to 4th on the last lap. So I'm not too happy with that but I feel I rode good. Another street race next week, but unfortunately we don't have a practice day so it will have to be quick learning!"
