Dan Linfoot, Pat McDougall and Christian Iddon have a difficult Sunday at Brands Hatch

10-08-2009

Dan, Pat and Christian all had situations on Sunday where it looked like it was going to go so well but unfortunately did not end that way.

Dan and Rob Mac Racing had a good start from 4th on the grid followed by a series of maneuvers that resulted in Dan leading the British Supersport Championship race after the first lap. Dan fought to create a gap at the front for several laps but was caught and passed by James Westmoreland. Dan then dropped back to 5th before regrouping to push forward but the safety car was brought out for a crash involving Chris Martin. After three safety car laps the race restarted but unfortunately the cold tyres caught Dan out with a rear wheel slide and crash. Dan is physically fine but frustrated with the outcome of his first race back after injury. Dan next races at BSB Cadwell Park and goes there knowing that he has his race winning pace back after his recent foot injury.

Pat and Beowulf Racing also started well from second on the grid and settled comfortably into third position in the British Superstock 600 Championship race from which to move forward. Unfortunately the race was red flagged early on due to a large crash. The race was restarted with the original grid position and Pat again started well but unfortunately on the first lap found a false neutral and then first gear when he wanted second, coming up to a corner. This caused the bike to squirm and for Pat to go off the track rejoining at the back of the field. From there Pat raced hard making up almost 20 places finishing in 21st. Pat is looking forward to being back at the front at BSB Cadwell Park.

Christian started well in race two of the KTM RC8 Supercup as with his first race on Saturday. Heading up to Druids Bend Christian headed up the inside passing riders to go into the lead. Unfortunately the front wheel slid away under braking in to the corner and Christian crashed. Christian comes away from the weekend with the great podium finish in race one on Saturday and heads to Cadwell Park confident of more good results.
