Dan Linfoot and Pat McDougall complete practice sessions at BSB Brands Hatch
10-04-2009
The first round of 2009 British Superbikes is this weekend at Brands Hatch. It is a four day round including the extra practice day which was today. The full schedule for the weekend is on the BSB website here.
The weather today was dry this morning but became progressively more wet as the day went on but both Dan and Pat had useful track time.
Dan had one dry session this morning which he used to relearn the Brands Hatch Indy circuit and to try out settings in preparation for qualifying. Dan finished 12th fastest in the session 0.6 seconds behind Billy McConnell who was fastest. It is early days and Dan felt positive about the opportunity to progress from here. Dan has one more practice session tomorrow morning and then the 1st qualifying session in the afternoon for the Monday race.
Pat also had one dry session this morning which he used to try a shorter wheelbase setting with the aim to improve grip compared to his recent test here. The setting was not an improvement and the team has move back to a longer wheelbase but has kept the softer rear suspension that they had also tried. This afternoon's session was dry enough to start with for Pat to be able to confirm that the revised set-up is correct but then became more and more wet. Pat finished the first session one second behind the session leader Nick Clark in 8th place but feels confident of improvements with the revised settings. Pat has one session tomorrow which is his first qualifying.
