Christian Iddon qualifies strongly in 2nd for tomorrow's two Supermoto World Championship races

18-04-2009

Christian put his hand injury behind him to qualify in 2nd place (ahead of Superpole in the morning) for tomorrow's two Supermoto World Championship races at Viterbo near Rome.

The races will be streamed live on the SWC website here. Christian races in the S2 unlimited cc class.

The SWC press release for today reads:

"Adrien Chareyre of Husqvarna CH Racing, now riding with the number one plate, stamped his authority on the Italian course by taking the first pole of the season. By the time the S2 qualifying went on the race track was dry but became wet just in the final stage of the session due to a sudden rain shower affecting the whole S1 session.

Chareyre showed his speed in the free practice already and was capable of keeping a motivated Iddon behind.

The British willing to make up for an injury plagued 2008 settled for second but ended really close to the reigning Champion. Iddon was a positive surprise for the KTM Motoracing squad hiring the GP winner after he spent several years on the Aprilia.

Home favourite Davide Gozzini of 747 Motorsport TM Factory Racing was third ahead of new team mate and friend Andrea Occhini.

Luca Minutilli of Accadueo Racing was a promising fifth ahead of two time World Champion Delepine as both will be surely in the chase for tomorrow's win.

Fabrizio Bartolini steered the factory WRM to seventh ahead of young gun Borella."
