Christian Iddon on the podium in 2nd in race one today

Christian had a strong race today in the first of two KTM RC8 Supercup rounds at BSB Knockhill. Having qualified in 2nd Christian got a good start but dropped to 4th over the first lap as he allowed the tyres (road tyres) to warm up. After the first few laps Christian then started to push hard and passed for 3rd and then 2nd place before setting his sights on race leader Wood. Both riders were the only two lapping under 53s with Christian gaining 0.2 to 0.3s per lap however with 5 laps to go Christian's foot repeatedly slipped off the left footpeg. Understandably expecting the problem to be oil Christian backed off the pace to finish the race in 2nd and then to find that the problem was a loose footpeg. Overall Christian was pleased with a strong result and a chance to go one better tomorrow in race two at 12.10.
