Christian Iddon competes in the first 2 rounds of the 2009 British Supermoto Championship this weekend

As announced previously Christian will be entering selected rounds of the 2009 British Supermoto Championship and the BSB KTM RC8 Super Cup, as well as competing the full Supermoto World Championship season. Christian is the current holder of the British Supermoto Championship S2 class (see below for different class system for 2009 British Championship).
The first British Supermoto event is this coming weekend at Rowrah in the Lake District, and has two rounds at the one event. The first round is Saturday and the 2nd round on Sunday. Christian will be competing on both days.
For those not familiar with the British Supermoto classifications/regulations the main classes are:
Classes (all 4 Stroke Solo Machines 2 stroke capacity in brackets)
ELITE: Any with a cylinder capacity between 251 & 950cc (125 – 500cc)
SM CUP: Any with a cylinder capacity between 251 & 950cc (125 – 500cc)
SM LITES: Any with a cylinder capacity between 151 & 250cc (86 -125cc)
S4: Any with a cylinder capacity between 50 & 151cc (85cc)
Christian is competing in the Elite class on a 505cc KTM.
There will be three races at each round (one day) of the championship. A timed qualifying session will be used to determine grid positions for all three races on the day. Points will be scored for each of the three championship races. For positions 1 to 15 on the following scale: 20, 18, 16, 14, 12, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. If at the end of the round, there is a tie on points, the round winner will be the rider scoring the most points in the third race of the day. If there is a tie on points at the end of the season, the winner will be decided by the greater number of wins, if still unresolved, then the greater number of 2nds, 3rds and so on will be taken into account. If the situation is still unresolved, the earliest win of the season will be the deciding factor.
